As an economic policy development officer at Barnsley Council, I am responsible for developing and implementing policies that support the economic growth and regeneration of the borough. I work with internal and external stakeholders to identify and address the challenges and opportunities in the local economy, such as business support, skills development, innovation, digital connectivity and infrastructure. In particular, I provide policy briefings and analysis, contribute to economic development visions and strategies, help maintain the council\'s economic evidence base and support writing funding bids and business cases to secure funding for economic development. I am passionate about making a positive difference to the economic prospects and quality of life of the people of Barnsley.Also, I am Co-Chair of Barnsley Council\'s Young Employees Network, helping every young employee to feel welcome, supported, and empowered to grow professionally, as well as a member of the Institute of Economic Development Early Careers Network, engaging with other economic development professionals across the country.
