ABOUT DOMINIC WOOLNOUGH

I’m a J Murphy & Sons Senior SHES Manager, leading Health and Safety, CDM Assurance and Safe by Design (Design Close Calls) management within the Transpennine Route Upgrade, East of Leeds Alliance. I have 37 years multidisciplinary knowledge and experience, including 21 years leading senior health and safety management, safe by design and site safety duties, predominantly within transportation, power and water sectors. This has helped me to cross-fertilise positive H&S and Safe by Design practices within the Alliance teams, consisting of J Murphy & Sons, Volker Rail, Network Rail, Siemens and Systra staff, across the TRU programme and within client led working groups. I genuinely believe I can make a difference through positive collaboration.I\'m proud to be perceived as an approachable Mental Health First Aider within the Alliance. The MHFA team are trying to help develop better visibility of this resource and a more consistent approach to provision of beneficial first aid and non-stigmatised support. It’s OK to say you’re not OK. I’m a STEM Ambassador, ICE Delegated Engineer, TRU Mentor and keen IOSH Mentor who enjoys mentoring trainees, graduates and advisors who are trying to achieve EngTech MICE, IEng, CEng or IOSH professional qualifications.
