About Dominic Chifulini
Hello! My name is Dominic Chifulini and I am a third-year Undergraduate at Kent State University. I am pursuing a B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Human Development and Family Sciences. I am spread across Kent State’s campus working as an Undergraduate Research Assistant in the Psychological Sciences Department with the Student Life Study, a Certified Peer Educator with Kent State of Well-Being, and a Student Office Assistant at DeWeese Health Center. Through Kent State’s Recreation and Wellness Services, I have participated in various training and professional development programs. One of which includes the Alumni Mentorship Program. This summer, I intend on participating in Kent State’s Summer Undergraduate Research Experience doing work on the relationship between social support, social anxiety, loneliness, and technology and how they affect one\'s behavior. Through Kent State’s Psychology Department, I am participating in a Research Poster group on Social Support and Pain Sensitivity. My long term goal is to complete a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology through an APA accredited program. I am very passionate about Psychological Research, specifically Developmental and Cognitive Psychology and enjoy expanding my knowledge and experience within it.

My role as an Undergraduate Research Activity has me span over a wide range of tasks. I complete research overlooked by Karin Coifman, Ph.D, and John Gunstead, Ph.D. I began in her Clinical Affective Sciences Lab completing tasks like NOLDUS Facial Coding, data tracking from participant surveys, updating data tracking sheets, sending out reminder emails and texts, and recording compliance. I have also spent time doing participant recruitment for Dr. Coifman\'s Student Life Study. Currently I am working on Health Sessions for the Student Life Study which includes 45-minute sessions completing various different activities collecting data and working on data management in the lab room.
