ABOUT DOMINGA C. MARTINEZ
Welcome to my linked in profile! My professional career has consisted of providing case management and therapeutic services for the past 13 years. In 2005, I graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelors in Family and Community Services. After graduating, I began my career as a case manager with Big Brothers Big Sisters. I am so grateful for all the opportunities I experienced at Big Brothers Big Sisters to plant seeds of aspiration, motivation, and dedication. As I aspired to advance my knowledge and skills as a Social Worker, I decided to attend Colorado State University. As an advanced generalist social worker, I was provided the knowledge and skills to utilize in a clinical and organizational setting. After completing my education, I decided to follow the clinical path where I have excelled as a therapist in a mental health organization. I have developed skills to effectively communicate in a culturally sensitive manner, be creative in treatment planning, develop unique approaches to intervention, and maintain professionalism in my interactions with those in my community. My passion for helping others to make and maintain positive changes in their lives has propelled my creativity in treatment planning, challenges me to develop unique approaches to intervention, and keeps me goal-oriented in my interactions with colleagues and other professionals. I have obtained a diverse and intense academic curriculum, participated in professional and leadership experiences advancing my knowledge and skills to our mental health community. As Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I consider myself to be proactive, a self-starter, creative thinker, and well organized in any position I have maintained. I\'m committed to bringing about social change for the greater good of the people; if a person cannot learn in the way we teach, we must teach in a way the person can learn.
