ABOUT DOM BUXTON

I am a Supervising Associate in the Financial Services Funds group and a core member of the Regulated Funds team at Simmons & Simmons LLP, specialising in the structuring, establishment and ongoing operation of UK and EU regulated investment funds. I act as lead associate on fund formation matters, advising fund managers, investors and service providers on UCITS, NURS, QIS and LTAFs, as well as open-ended private asset vehicles including ELTIFs and Luxembourg Part II UCIs across private equity, credit, real estate, infrastructure and hybrid strategies. A significant focus of my practice is the expansion of access to private markets for defined contribution pension schemes and retail investors. I have contributed to the Productive Finance Working Group and played a key role in several high-profile and innovative fund launches, including advising on the launch of the UK’s first Long-Term Asset Fund. I also provide strategic advice on regulatory developments impacting fund operations, including the UK Sustainable Disclosure Regime, Overseas Fund Regime, Consumer Duty, AIFMD and the UCITS Regulation.
