As an Assistant Principal at Sunset Valley Elementary, I support a thriving learning community focused on academic excellence, social-emotional growth, and culturally responsive teaching. This is my third year serving as an AP and my first year at the elementary level, after two dynamic years in middle school leadership. The transition has deepened my understanding of the full K–12 educational experience and broadened my leadership lens. In this role, I wear many hats—serving as the campus 504 coordinator, LPAC representative, MAP Growth assessment coordinator, and textbook inventory manager. I also lead and support a range of aligned initiatives, including our efforts around social-emotional learning (SEL), culturally responsive classrooms, and tiered behavior interventions. From analyzing data to guide campus decisions to planning joyful school-wide assemblies that build culture and community, I’m committed to creating an inclusive and engaging environment where every student and staff member can thrive.This role has been an incredible opportunity to grow as an instructional leader, systems thinker, and collaborator. I’m continuously learning from the elementary space and remain passionate about helping students feel seen, supported, and empowered.
