ABOUT DOHA KHAN
I’m a medical student at Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine with a unique background in chemistry, textile science, and biomaterials. My academic and research journey—from developing sustainable fibers and investigating nanomaterials at NYU to exploring biofabrication and tissue engineering—has deepened my passion for science that directly improves human health and reduces environmental harm. With over 5 years of research experience across NYU’s Institute of Biomaterials & Biomimetics, College of Dentistry, and Department of Chemistry, I’ve worked on cutting-edge projects involving 3D printing, protein fiber fabrication, dye sustainability, and cellular assays. I’ve also contributed to public health through clinical and operational roles at the New York State Department of Health and Heritage New York Medical. My goal is to integrate my scientific expertise with medical training to help shape a future of ethical, patient-centered, and environmentally mindful healthcare. Whether through biomaterial innovation, clinical practice, or health equity research, I’m committed to bridging disciplines to improve outcomes for both people and the planet.
