ABOUT DOĞAN DORUK DEMIRCIOĞLU

The story of Me.I was born in 1982 in the wonderful city of Reutlingen, also called the gate to the Swabian Alb, located in South Germany. I finished my school education with the Abitur to study Biology at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen. There, I graduated with a Diploma degree in Microbiology at the Department of Microbial Genetics and a PhD at the same department, where I was working on peptidoglycan of staphylococci and its role in human food allergies and inflammatory bowel disease. During these years, I could accumulate extensive experience in several fields, such as microbiology, cell culture techniques, immunology or analytical chemistry. So far, so exciting. In 2011, everything became even more exciting as I got the opportunity to co-found cecolabs UG, a biotech spin-off from the Eberhard Karls University Tübingen, providing highly pure microbial compounds, as well as cell wall isolation and analysis services. Doing the splits between the life of a business developer (responsible also for quality management, On- and Offline Marketing, and Customer Relations Management) and my passion for science while doing my PhD in parallel, was very exhausting, but also a great experience. Unfortunately, we had to close the company, due to several reasons. Nevertheless, we learned a lot and this throwback did not disenchant me, since my major principles are: 1. Learn from your mistakes2. Never be narrow-minded and3. Never give upAs Paulo Coelho once said:\"Be brave. Take risks. Nothing can substitute experience.\"As you might have seen from my title, I am currently working as s Associate Director, Business Development & senior lecturer at a local university combining my passions for science and business. I am always open for interesting collaborations, especially in the field of precision medicine. This is a brief summary about me. For further information regarding my career goals, values and principles or any interest in working together with me/us, please feel free to contact me. Here, on Xing.com or on ResearchGate.Thank you for taking the time reading the short story of my life.
