About Jennifer L. Jackson
As a clinical psychologist I currently provide therapeutic services for children, adolescents and adults. My goal is to help my clients find a pathway to live their best life. I do this through providing a space to explore and address the issues that may be their impeding growth and leaving them anxious and immobilized. I have a wealth of experience to offer. My unique clinical perspective is both from my extensive training and also my life experiences. This provides me with the skills and insights necessary to help clients move towards clarity and wellness. My background includes working in therapeutic and educational settings for over 30 years. I started my career in my early 20s counseling college students and supervising college Residential Assistants(RAs). This work led me to want further training so I left to study at Harvard Graduate School of Education (HUGSE) where I was trained in family systems-based group relations work. My other interest was working with troubled teens, so I joined a counselor/trainer team in the Boston area public high schools educating and counseling students in the prevention of youth relationship violence. These experiences led me to pursue group relations work and for many years I served as a staff consultant on conferences designed to educate Counselors, Educators and Professionals about organizational and interpersonal dynamics that affect the work they do. During this time, I was invited to work both nationally and also internationally through the Tavistock Institute in London, to educate teachers, professionals and counselors about systems theory and group dynamics. My early training with youth and organizational systems, greatly influenced my training as a clinical psychologist. And I have woven these experiences into my work in my current private practice. I am trained in many modalities including psychodynamic, CBT, DBT, EMDR, and rudimentary EFT. My systems training, as well as my extensive work with children and families, allows me to be a clinician and a consultant to organizations and systems or to consult to those who struggle with workplace dynamics. Clinically, I treat depression, anxiety spectrum problems, family conflict and stress, identity development, adoption issues and also work with couples and parents. I believe in exploration and solutions. Whatever the path, I am available to help you figure out where to start and how to move towards long-lasting change.
