ABOUT DIEGO NOVILLO
I hold a PhD in computing science (compiler optimization techniques for parallel and distributed computing). I have over 30 years of dedicated experience in CPU and GPU compilers.Currently, my work focuses on SPIR-V compilation and optimization in the Vulkan GPU driver at NVIDIA.Before this, I led the AR Graphics teams within the AR organization at Google. My responsibilities extended to three teams: GPU Performance, Graphics Tools, and Shader Compilers. In addition to the above, I have substantial experience in high-performance computing, embedded systems, compiler optimization, and code generation for diverse architectures. Notably, I played a pivotal role as one of the principal architects of GCC\'s SSA global optimization framework and contributed significantly to the design and implementation of GCC\'s OpenMP support, link-time optimization (LTO), and basic alias analysis machinery.I also designed and implemented a new profile guided facility in LLVM based on sampling profilers.
