About David Young

Ever since I was a kid, I\'ve been obsessed with computers and software, writing my first simple scripts and web pages when I was only seven years old! Now, 25 years later, I\'ve spent my life learning the ins and outs of any platform, technology, or language I can get my hands on. I\'ve taken interest in C, C++, C#, Java, and JavaScript, but my favorite language is Python! I always look forward to thinking through complex issues in unique and innovative ways. I have always been an advocate for open-source software, and have spent most of my personal development time working with Git and GitHub, contributing to and collaborating with other projects and developers, to build better software for the masses. I enjoy working in a remote environment, where people from any walk of life can come to a level playing field, and everyone\'s contributions are valued!🤝 While I was working towards my Bachelor\'s at Arizona State University, I got used to working on an Agile team, and embracing workflows like scrum and kanban. The experience of working directly with a remote team gave me even more confidence to branch out and collaborate with others on GitHub, and I\'ve been able to make contributions to projects and communities relating to Kodi, Home Assistant, and more! I\'m also blessed to be a father of two beautiful girls, who remind me every day that I\'ll never run out things to learn! When I\'m not working, coding on my own, or trying to expand my skill set, I\'m spending time with my family, whether that\'s cooking, playing games, or whatever the day brings our way. Whatever happens, I\'m just one bad pun away from a dad joke! I can\'t wait to see what opportunities come next for my family and I, but I know there will always be an open door if I keep knocking.
