   Originally hired to expand Braskem’s Biotechnology team to include a new laboratory and team in the greater Boston area. Currently lead an international team of 62 scientists and engineers to develop and commercialize novel biotechnologies. Key responsibilities include:• Engagement with internal and external stakeholders, including EPC firm, property owners, etc. to deliver new Renewable Innovation Center ($29M project).• Management of leadership and technical team to deliver on key project milestones.• Manage annual OPEX budget of ~$10M, and annual CAPEX budgets of ~$2M.• Responsible for safe and efficient operations of two R&D labs, one in Campinas, BR and the other in Lexington, MA.• Work closely with commercial teams to ensure robust business cases for new projects and clear path for commercialization.• Engage with other technical teams including chemical catalysis, process engineering, and material science to deliver novel renewable technologies. Key accomplishments include:• Expansion of technical team from 22 to 55 team members. o Developed and executed on hiring strategy at both sites. o Reorganized existing team to deliver more efficient management and delivery on project goals. • Delivered new sft state of the art lab and office on time and on budget o Developed strategy for lab expansion and collected support from senior leadership for construction project o Introduced strategy to use EPC firm to manage construction o Managed internal and external stakeholders throughout construction project. o Together with internal legal team, negotiated lease agreement • Expansion of project pipeline 4x adding potentially $530M in NPV o Maturity of projects ranging from initial POC through demonstration scale o Shift focus to quick win opportunities to establish credibility and buy-in from senior leadership
