About Daniel Lyng

I am a data scientist experienced in the ground-up development of data collection, management, and analysis tools for actionable insights and decision-making. I’m passionate about bringing the power of data to organizations by creating scalable, efficient, and user-friendly systems across the whole data pipeline.

Experience

  1. Data Scientist

    The World Bank Group

    Aug 2022 — Present

I am responsible for data engineering and data science for environmental trust fund programs housed at the World Bank. I designed and developed the data infrastructure underlying half a billion dollars of World Bank environmental trust fund resources. I created the data model in cooperation with line staff, designed the data governance and use strategies, and developed the necessary collection and processing tools to create intuitive business dashboards.I develop models and conduct analyses using our data pipeline to inform internal advisory and analytics products for our clients—such as several forthcoming country strategy documents in East Africa—and to identify inefficiencies in operations and opportunities for further investment.
