I am currently serving as Director of Operations for Statistics Without Borders, where I apply my 30 years of IT experience to support this all-volunteer organization\'s mission of providing pro bono statistical expertise to nonprofits and civic organizations worldwideI have 30 years\' experience in IT, and have held senior positions as a software developer, site reliability engineer, and engineering manager. For the past 10 years, my work has involved strengthening the teams and technology involved in complex, critical systems, improving their ability to anticipate, respond to, recover, and learn from from unexpected operational events. I am now focused on applying my skills and experience to support initiatives that strengthen democratic principles and civic engagement. I believe strongly in the importance of the rule of law and transparent governance, and I am eager to contribute to organizations working to uphold these fundamental tenets.I am particularly interested in leveraging these skills to assist non-profits and civic organizations in areas such as technology infrastructure, incident management, data management, or strategic advising.Beyond the digital realm, I am also an experienced cook and breadmaker with a passion for using the power of food to build connections and nourish communities. I believe that fostering strong, resilient communities – where people feel connected and supported, and basic needs like food security are addressed – is fundamental to a healthy democracy. I am interested in exploring opportunities where my culinary skills and passion for food can intersect with efforts to strengthen social bonds or address food insecurity as a means of civic empowerment.I am open to volunteer, part-time, or consulting opportunities where my expertise, both technical and community-focused, can make a meaningful difference in fostering a healthy and resilient democratic society.
