As a Senior Solutions Architect at AWS, I help the Department of War and Air Force leverage cloud computing to achieve mission-critical objectives. With over 20 years of experience in IT systems engineering and strategic planning, I specialize in resilience architecture and cloud modernization of national defense applications.Thought Leadership & Technical Innovation: I regularly present at industry conferences including AWS re:Invent, AWS Washington DC Summit, DAFITC, and the Department of the Air Force Data Analytics and AI Forum, focusing on topics like Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), resilience patterns, and defense system modernization. I\'ve also hosted AWS OnAir segments, reaching over 4 million viewers across live and on-demand broadcasts. My technical contributions include developing content for AWS TwinMaker and participating in both the IoT and Resilience Technical Field Communities, where I collaborate with colleagues to resolve complex technical specifications and lead resilience initiatives.Organizational Contributions: I serve as an Amazon Bar Raiser, helping maintain AWS\'s high standards for talent acquisition. I\'ve also contributed to organizational initiatives including co-developing foundational principles for our team and leading technical enablement sessions on topics like security, observability, resilience, and AWS fundamentals.Customer Engagement: I work closely with Air Force customers to deliver cloud solutions that support their modernization efforts, including facilitating AWS Outposts deployments and conducting immersion days on various AWS services. My focus is on understanding customer needs and helping them adopt cloud technologies that enhance their operational capabilities.Previously, I spent almost 14 years at Progressive Insurance, starting out installing servers in the data center and becoming the Server Virtualization SME in charge of one of the nation\'s largest VMware environments at the time. I also helped architect Progressive\'s first private cloud environment, The Business Innovation Garage, and shared the stage at the 2018 OpenStack Summit keynote to showcase our implementation.
