Leading the temporary traffic monitoring team at Citisense, managing a skilled group of project assistants, planners, analysts, and technicians. Together, we deliver a wide range of traffic data collection projects across the UK, including link counts, JTCs, pedestrian surveys, ATCs, radar, ANPR, and more. I also help clients with bespoke and nonstandard survey requests to help generate a methodology which can work for their specific needs.My role spans the full lifecycle of each project, from developing fee proposals and liaising with clients, to scoping, planning, delivery, analysis, and final reporting. I’m responsible for ensuring each project runs smoothly, remains on budget, and meets client expectations.Alongside temporary survey work, I also support our permanent monitoring programmes using Citisense’s in-house technology, the Citisensor, to deliver continuous, high-quality traffic insights.I work closely with our consultancy team to produce detailed reports, visuals, and mapping outputs, and I collaborate with the business development team on tenders, RFQs, and PQQs. I take pride in leading by example, ensuring the team stays focused, proactive, and adaptable to changing client needs.Beyond project delivery, I actively look for ways to improve our internal processes, making our operations more efficient and the experience better for both our team and our clients.

ABOUT DANIEL MCIVER
I’ve spent my career working on projects that keep people moving, from traffic surveys across the UK to permanent monitoring systems that help cities understand how their roads are really used. Currently, I lead a brilliant team at Citisense, where we deliver a range of services, from short-term surveys to long-term monitoring, always with a focus on making data clear, useful, and reliable. What I enjoy most is working closely with people, whether that’s supporting my team, finding the right approach for a client’s unusual request, or improving the way we do things so projects run more smoothly. Over the years, I’ve been lucky to gain experience across project management, operations, and client relations, and I like to bring that mix into every challenge. Outside of work, I’ve been involved in charity initiatives and community fundraising, something I’m always keen to continue alongside my career.
