ABOUT DAN GARLICK

In January 2016 I joined Walgreen Boots Alliance as a Finance Analyst. The role sits within the Global Brands partnering key support functions and consolidating the costs for a number of entities with differing currencies. Extra activities include being a member of the Lunch Club committee - a monthly seminar for all Finance members and also working on a small global teamed project with our CFO to bring together global teams.The journey to my role started at Sheffield Business School where I graduated with a strong 2:1 in Business Studies in 2014. I was shortlisted as one of Sheffield Hallam’s ‘Inspirational Students’ in my final year and was named Student of the Year. Winner of Hallam Union Student of the Year 2014 In my third year of University I joined Bosch, looking after costs and working on projects on cost reduction and efficiency within their Lawn and Garden manufacturing plant.Following my time at Bosch I flew to Kenya for 2 months to empower budding entrepreneurs on micro-finance projects. Joining 30 students from across the world to educate entrepreneurs in business and prepare them for a Dragons Den style pitch for finance.I joined Samworth Brothers after graduation in 2014. Samworth’s are one of the country’s largest food producers with customers including Tesco, Marks & Spencer and Waitrose. My work in the FMCG environment focussed on their weekly accounts.A natural leader and team player whose skills were honed in the workplace, seven years in the Air Training Corps and through the Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award. In 2010 I was commended for my service to the Air Cadets and was awarded the title of the Lord Lieutenants Cadet for Leicestershire.\'Daniel’s diligence and close attention to detail made a significant contribution to ensure that the project stayed on track.
