I help businesses restructure debt, restore credibility, and recover value when disruption tests their foundations. In special situations, I focus on diagnosing the structural, financial, and behavioural causes of breakdown. Therefore, my work bridges law, finance, and strategy to stabilize systems under pressure and design credible pathways back to solvency and trust. My perspective is shaped by: 1. Over a decade of cross-border experience in insolvency, distressed M&A, special situations, and financial restructuring. A global lens drawn from Canadian, Indian, and international mandates. Deep study of systemic failure from sovereign defaults to corporate collapses, and how capital, trust, and control realign in their aftermath. Whether structuring a distressed asset transaction, negotiating with creditors, or designing a pre-insolvency strategy, I deliver: 1. Legal clarity. Capital stack precision. Deal-focused execution that protects value, accelerates resolution, and positions stakeholders for recovery. I write frequently on restructuring, macroeconomic distress, and institutional failure, decoding what they reveal about capital, power, and recovery. My work includes more than ten research papers and thought pieces in leading publications worldwide. Current Roles: 1. Founder: Divi Distressed Investments: Canada’s first distressed-focused investment firm guiding clients through high-stakes legal and financial challenges involving distressed assets. Principal Lawyer: Divi Capital Counsel: A professional law corporation delivering restructuring and special situations advice. Previous Engagements: Projects and fellowships with Harvard University’s South Asia Institute, the University of Chicago, the Indian Parliament, and the United Nations. Beyond the Mandate: Advocate for child rights, named UN Global Schools Ambassador in 2018, with several years of volunteer work in the sector.
