ABOUT DIVYA CHHAMALWAN
I am Divya, a MS Biotechnology candidate at New York University, graduating in May 2024. I have a strong passion and specialization in molecular biology and genetics, and I have developed a diverse range of essential laboratory skills through my academic and professional journey. As a Graduate Assistant at NYU, I perform and execute advanced molecular techniques such as sequencing, DNA and RNA extraction, isolation and quantification; electrophoresis, bacterial transfromation, transfection, cell culture, ELISA, Western blots, PCR and many more, contributing to successful research outcomes and data generation. I also spearhead inventory management and organization for the Biomedical Science Department, overseeing optimal resource allocation and maintaining smooth department operations. I am proficient in Good Documentation Practices and scientific literature and writing, and I am handy with tools like MS Office Suite and databases like NCBI, Swiss-Prot, PDB, and PubMed.Beyond the lab coat, I have actively led and contributed to social campaigns with Swachh Bharat and Rotaract, and served as a teaching volunteer for the underprivileged, a deeply fulfilling experience. I also enjoy capturing moments through my camera and unwinding with a good movie. I am eagerly seeking full-time opportunities that will nurture my skills and push my boundaries, helping me to thrive in the biotech industry.
