   August 2016 - present Lead Engineer on the Merlin Platform Team. Our team is responsible for all of the core Merlin metadata REST services and frameworks powering the X1, Stream websites / mobile apps, Sky Glass, and NBC\'s Peacock websites / mobile apps. Responsibilities include Merlin data / web services and frameworks, Myriad, Kafka notifications, Merlin1 API, data feed generation (internal, Apple, Roku), SAT authentication, continuous integration, releasing, and deployment technology. November 2014 - August 2016 A member of the Myriad team that re-architected and re-implemented the original CoMPASS Merlin image system and also revamped our software release process as well. Myriad is a dynamic image ingest, resizing, and delivery system. It is both horizontally scalable and multi-data center. Myriad ingests millions of images from ~20 providers and delivers them to ~20 million X1 set-top boxes, as well as the websites and mobile apps. Myriad\'s CDN edge receives ~160K rps at prime time, with the origin receiving ~4k rps. Primary responsibilities were writing and operating the ingest and delivery web services. Technologies utilized include: Java, Spring (Boot, Batch, Integration, AMQP), JMeter, TestNG, Node.js, Python, ImageMagick, libvips, Oracle, Solr, Redis, RabbitMQ, HAProxy, Consul, Docker, Ansible, OpenStack, Amazon Web Services, Apache Traffic Server, Maven, Github Enterprise, Bamboo, Jenkins, Splunk, Prometheus, PagerDuty. October 2011 - November 2014 A member of the CoMPASS Merlin Real-Time Ingest team. We developed and scaled RESTful web services that perform bulk, event-driven, periodically scheduled, and user triggered jobs on large data sets in a SOA fashion. The data that our services produce is used the X1 set-top box, websites, and mobile apps. Technologies utilized include: Java, Python, Javascript, Node.js, RabbitMQ, Redis, Oracle, BDB, Quartz Scheduler, Spring Framework, Spring Integration, Spring AMQP, Maven, Git, Bamboo, TestNG, JUnit.
