ABOUT DIRK KROLIKOWSKI
DKFS is a design practice founded in Fulham, London in 2010 by Dirk Krolikowski and Falko Schmitt. In the recent years we have built an international reputation and received attention for our fresh and innovative interpretation of modern infrastructure with a portfolio of award winning bridge proposals, stations and large span roofs. DKFS aims to develop existing models of contemporary infrastructure further and create value through an intensive dialogue based process. This involves interdisciplinary investigation, working in close collaboration with engineers and other experts internationally. For this we maintain close working relationships with key players in the industry. Dirk has a strong interest in the cultural dimension of infrastructure, engineering, fabrication and in the application of digital tools. Dirk feels that the interdisciplinary intersection of these fields plays an important aspect in producing sustainable designs. Dirk is an Associate Professor at UCL, The Bartlett where he teaches Unit 14 with a focus on the future of infrastructure facilitated by a rich research environment, developing a fresh and innovative approach to infrastructure design.Dirk has started his career working the Richard Rogers Partnership and was involved in delivering many international projects. His key projects include the BBVA HQ Tower in Mexico City, Geneva Airport, The Port Authority Tower in New York, One Hyde Park and The Leadenhall Building right in the centre of the City of London.
