In my role as VP of Strategic Procurement: Oversee strategic procurement for worldwide demand of Reagent, BioChemicals, Consumables and OEM business of Siemens Diagnostics; six sites in USA, UK, and Germany. Define and cross functional alignment of the worldwide sourcing strategy, supplier relations and involvement in development projects, and regulatory compliance to ensuring optimum supplier performance during the product life cycle. Adapting supply networks to meet future requirements regarding resilience, cost, and sustainability. Direct the module ‘Technology and Innovation’ within the strategic procurement framework (SPF) 2020 program. • Alignment with cross function on supplier risk mitigations; implemented 2nd sourcing strategy for 4 major material groups and regionalization of fluid production. • Implemented Negotiation excellence approach: training-preparation-execution. Achieved price reduction targets the last 3 years. • Driving internally Design to Cost (DtC) activities and supplier enabled innovations, increased contribution of DtC of overall savings. • Renegotiated major supplier contracts (~1/3 of purchase volume) with including cost and value engineering clause for constant cost improvements and enhanced KPI measurements. • Improve organizational efficiencies by driving digitalization activities with suppliers (e.g. EDI implementation running), usage of lean tools, negotiation app, open innovation. • Enhancing supplier collaboration, “Strategic Supplier Review Meetings” covering 80% of spend. • Improve team engagement score and ensure team interaction during COVID times. • Positions Strategic Procurement as value contributor; implementation of Procurement Engineering function, support market growth, competence mapping of suppliers, total cost of ownership evaluation, identify opportunities for outsourcing and supporting insourcing activities.
