ABOUT DIRK RECKERT
My team and I are developing new products to help scientists around the world fight cancer. Good teamwork is the most important success factor for me. My personal scientific passion is solving problems using the toolbox of organic chemistry. The design, synthesis and application of new fluorescent dyes is the scientific field where I feel home most. In particular, the development of new fluorophores for cell analysis (flow cytometry) and imaging (super-resolution microscopy) and their bioconjugation to biomolecules are daily work for me. Although I enjoy doing research with my own hands, the coordination of a team in a multidisciplinary environment and managing of ambitious projects clearly predominates my everyday work.
