About Dipti Pai
I\'ve spent 12+ years turning data into decisions that actually matter — for businesses, for governments, and for real people navigating real situations.That\'s looked like a lot of different things. COVID response work that gave governors across MA, MI, and NYC the clarity they needed to make real-time decisions during a crisis. A public platform that finally gave families transparent access to nursing home quality data. A portal that helped San Francisco better reach its most vulnerable residents. Retail insights that uncovered why customers were returning products — not the surface reason, but the root one. A multi-million dollar opportunity that was hiding in plain sight. And lately, building AI agents that change how insights get delivered altogether. At McKinsey, I co-founded the Data Visualization Lab — built the team, set the standards, and ran masterclasses on data storytelling and design for hundreds of colleagues and clients across the firm. I\'ve always believed that insight without good design is just noise — so I bring both: the analytical rigor to find what matters and the design sensibility to make it land. At Returnalyze, I lead insights strategy for major retail brands, shape product direction, influence roadmap, and am actively building LLM-powered agents to reimagine how insights get delivered. Before that, I helped scale a healthcare analytics practice that ended up serving 100+ health systems across the US.I\'m most at home in roles where I\'m building something — a platform, a new way of delivering insight, a team, a practice — and where the work has real stakes for real people. I\'ve led teams, advised C-suites and government officials, and shaped strategy at the highest levels. What drives all of it is the same: the person on the other side of the data. The expecting mother choosing a hospital. The nurse figuring out where to grow. The neighbor whose dog came home because someone paid attention. That\'s what good analytical work is for.Outside of work, I volunteer on Sunday mornings at a local transitional living center — prep, cooking, serving breakfast. I paint, hike, woodwork, garden, and cook. I care about animal welfare, health equity, and the environment. I drink masala tea — not chai tea, there\'s a difference — and I spend as much time as possible with my family and my dog, Tater Tot. If you\'re working on something where insight, strategy, and genuine care for people need to come together — I\'d love to connect.
