I am part of an Azure R&D team that develops and maintains Azure\'s high-performance, clustered storage solution for caching active data in hybrid environments. Our software, named Avere OS, provides an interface that accelerates client access to one or more back-end storage targets. My contributions include:+ Optimizing performance of NFS and SMB clients sending operations to Avere OS - for example, by adding support for higher read-write transfer sizes, setting appropriate TCP socket buffer sizes, and creating additional TCP connections to storage targets, to name a few.+ Porting Avere OS from FreeBSD kernel to Linux kernel; accommodate for differences in platform such as how alternative IO models work + Designing more secure REST APIs, while continuing support for legacy XML-RPC APIs, to expose management functionalities of Avere OS to customers.+ Triaging and fixing time-sensitive production bugs in NFS front/backends, ONCRPC layers on a daily basis.+ Designing framework for automated unit tests and integration tests that runs periodically throughout a development cycle.
