Working in the Financial Services sector on investment management, real estate and hedge fund clients.I have a portfolio of asset management clients with responsibility for agreeing audit timetables, acting as the initial point of contact, briefing the audit team including specialists, monitoring budgets and delivering and supervising the audit process from start to finish.I work on entities preparing accounts in accordance with IFRS, UK GAAP and US GAAP/GAAS standards. When technical accounting issues arise, I research and assess the treatment under these standards.I oversee and direct the budgeting, planning, co-ordination and control of engagements in accordance with the relevant client, statutory, KPMG and business requirements to ensure effective delivery and maximum recoverability and profitability.I provide coaching and guidance to both on and off-shore staff working on my engagements.I manage the partner and director involvement on audits, providing progress reports as required.I have responsibility as the department lead on hedge fund clients where I also deliver presentations on industry updates and areas of audit focus.I am responsible for nurturing and developing relationships with clients, internal business departments and staff, for the sharing of information and to identify and progress current and future audit requirements.I assist partners & directors in monitoring the effectiveness of audit services delivered, providing feedback and reflection on the quality of service.I prepare audit planning and completion reports for presentation to senior management and board of directors.I am the performance manager for trainee / qualified accountants and I assess their performance and provide feedback and guidance to help them to reach their full potential.
