ABOUT DIONYSIA WILLIAMS VELAZCO

Currently serving as the Associate Artistic Director of Short North Stage, a professional regional theater located in the heart of the arts district in Columbus, OH. I have the pleasure of contributing to the overall artistic vision focused on programing, casting, directing and/or choreographing. I also enjoy overseeing the high school internship program, lead the marketing team, and much more. Thanks to amazing training and adaptability, I\'ve been able to parlay my triple threat skills into an exciting career. As a freelance Executive Facilitator at ImprovEdge I engage our clients in customized, heavily researched, and interactive workshops that use the skills from the improv stage to better their talents in topics such as presentation skills, managing tough conversations, and personal brand. ImprovEdge is a certified Woman-Owned Business.As a musical theater actress I have toured across the country and internationally performing in many different Broadway musicals such as The Pajama Game (US tour), Fame (China tour), Grease (Istanbul), A Chorus Line, Cats, Anything Goes, West Side Story, Marvelous Wonderettes, Forbidden Broadway Vol. 1, and Fugitive Songs, to name a few. Once based in NYC and now currently based in Columbus, Ohio I\'m a frequent performer with Short North Stage.As a Director and Choreographer I\'ve had the pleasure of working professionally with Shenandoah Summer Music Theater Short North Stage, Columbus Children\'s Theater, CATCO, The Human Race, and Wright State University on numerous productions such as Jersey Boys, Legally Blonde, Beautiful, Lippa\'s Wild Party, Sister Act, NewsiesAltar Boyz, Mamma Mia, Chicago, Beauty and the Beast, Shrek, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Spring Awakening, and The Music Man.
