ABOUT DIONTÉ GREY

Dionté is the founder and Executive Director of UrbanPromise Los Angeles, a non-profit organization working to provide jobs, academic/spiritual development, and college access to the children and youth of Los Angeles - specifically in lower income/under resourced communities. With the help of his wife and a group of local leaders, Dionté launched UrbanPromise Los Angeles in 2019 in Canoga Park, a neighborhood in the San Fernando Valley region of Los Angeles. Inspired by the global reach of UrbanPromise through its 25 sites around the world, Dionté hopes to one day expand the reach and impact of UPLA into several neighborhoods throughout Los Angeles. To supplement almost 10 years of nonprofit experience in communities of color, Dionté holds a MA in Diverse Community Development Leadership from California State University - Northridge (CSUN). Dionté earned his bachelor\'s degree from Tusculum University, where he was a NCAA student-athlete (Men\'s Basketball). Dionté is passionate about raising the next generation of community and world leaders through the lived expression of his faith in God, use of culturally relevant pedagogy, and an asset-based approach to community development. Dionté is skilled in group facilitation, public speaking, youth leadership development, and leading professional development workshops. When he isn’t thinking of ways to \"reach a child, raise a leader, and restore community\" — he’s cherishing moments with his wife and daughters, enjoying the city of Los Angeles, listening to music, playing basketball, or reading.
