ABOUT DIONNE CUSTER EDWARDS

Dionne Custer Edwards is a writer, educator, and the Head of Learning & Public Programs at the Wexner Center for the Arts. Her work in the arts and education spans 25 years, including nearly two decades at the Wex where she leads the development and facilitation of groundbreaking, high-impact art and education programs. Dionne also teaches courses in museum studies in The Ohio State University\'s Department of Arts Administration, Education, and Policy. Recognized for her contributions to the arts and education fields, and to public service, Dionne has received acknowledgment and awards that include professional fellowships with Americans for the Arts, and a Greater Columbus Arts Council Arts Partnership Award for Arts Educator of the Year. Dionne also volunteers throughout the community and serves as a board trustee for Arts Midwest and Ohioana Library Association.Dionne has published critical and literary writing, internationally and nationally in Sanat Dünyamiz (“Our Art World”), Turkey; Journal GEARTE, Brazil; and in the University of Arizona’s Journal of Cultural Research in Art Education. Her poetry and nonfiction have appeared in 3Elements Review, Barren Magazine, Entropy Magazine, Flock, Gordon Square Review, Grist, Porter House Review, Storm Cellar, The Seventh Wave, Tahoma Literary Review, and others. Dionne is co-editor of a book series, forthcoming, Ohio State University Press, On Possibility: Social Change and the Arts + Humanities. Dionne has a MA in Arts Education and Creative Writing, Antioch University and a BA in English, The Ohio State University.
