Dion Hobbs is a Senior Financial Advisor, Senior Portfolio Advisor, and Vice President at Merrill Lynch Wealth Management. Developing long-term relationships supports his deep-seated interest in helping clients, their family members, and wider support system as the impetus for him choosing to be a Financial Advisor. Dion, while licensed in more than ten states, works with clients throughout Texas while providing tailored advice and guidance to enhance the long-term financial well-being of special-needs, disabled and elderly individuals. He is particularly skilled in working with clients\' external trust and legal advisors to design customized programs squarely focused on the well-being of the client. His areas of focus include Special Needs Trusts, Guardians, Trust administration and Probate. Dion regularly meets with clients helping them arrange in order of importance, their wants, needs and goals, while identifying gaps in their current wealth framework to provide a plan that makes sense. He takes pride in constructing portfolios, marshalling assets towards efficiency and efficacy, while periodically adjusting strategies and tactics to reflect changing circumstances, markets and environments. Dion began his career as an Assistant Mortgage-backed securities trader with American General in when he later joined JPMorgan Chase at the height of the financial crisis in 2008. He has been enjoying his time with Merrill since 2018. He earned his B.S, in Business Administration and Minor in Economics from Atlantic Union College. An active member in his community of Houston Texas, Dion is a current Board member with Family Services of Houston, the Texas Guardianship Association and is a Community Educator with the Alzheimer\'s Association. He enjoys volunteering, traveling, the beach and having fun with his kids Izrayel, Maiyana, Jacoby and Layla.
