ABOUT DINAKAR SINGH
Dinakar Singh is the CEO of Axon Capital, a global investment firm. Mr. Singh was previously a senior Partner at Goldman Sachs, where he was global co-head of the Principal Strategies Department, which was the firm\'s highly profitable global equities proprietary trading and investment business. He was also a member of the Operating Committee, Partnership Committee, Risk Committee and Asia Management Committee. Mr. Singh became a partner in 1998, and at that time was the second youngest partner in Goldman Sachs history. He founded TPG-Axon Capital in 2005, in partnership with the leading private equity firm TPG Capital. TPG-Axon was a pioneer of global investing, with a particular focus on Asia, and was one of the largest and most successful global multi-strategy investment firms in the Capital was established in 2017 and is focused on making concentrated long-term investments in both public and private companies. The core philosophy of the firm is that the short duration and narrow focus of most investors has created increasing opportunity for investors able to ignore short-term noise and focus on long term opportunity.Driven by his daughter Arya’s diagnosis with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), Mr. Singh established the SMA Foundation in 2003 to drive development of a treatment for SMA, which was previously the leading genetic cause of death in young children. Through approximately $150 million of strategic investments, the Foundation successfully facilitated or drove three transformative FDA-approved treatments, and helped establish SMA as a model for the potential to transform deadly rare diseases.Mr. Singh serves on the boards of the New York Public Library, Columbia University Medical Center, The Jackson Laboratory, Yale Ventures, Rethink Food, and Tarana Wireless. He also previously served as a member of the Yale University Investment Committee and as a Trustee of Rockefeller University and Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, and served on the investment committees of both.
