About Dimitry Maltsev

I bring a unique blend of deep technical expertise and proven leadership. I think from first principles, stay hands-on when it matters, and have a strong track record of building and scaling high-performing cross-functional engineering teams. My focus is on optimizing processes and consistently and efficiently delivering complex technologies to market.I began my career as a physicist working in nonlinear laser spectroscopy before transitioning into electrical engineering and software. Early on, I combined programming—Fortran, Basic, Pascal, and assembly on 8- and 16-bit platforms—with hands-on board-level hardware work. Over time, I expanded across the full embedded systems stack, from FPGA/Verilog design to C/C++ and Python on modern CPUs, SoCs, and ASICs. My experience spans environments from bare metal and RTOS to Linux and Windows, enabling me to build and deliver robust, high-performance systems across a wide range of platforms.Contributed to multiple startups, delivering next-generation networking and optical technologies, including core routers and terabit-per-second optical links.Led the development of semiconductor capital equipment for DRAM and Flash production used at Samsung and Hynix; the flagship product generated approximately $60M in annual revenue after launch.Throughout my career, I’ve focused on solving real-world problems with embedded and real-time systems, algorithms, and control — consistently delivering mission-critical technologies such as:• Precision nanometer-scale positioning solutions for industrial equipment• Fingerprint sensors embedded in credit cards and ID cards that are used worldwide today• Ultrasound-based micro-location systems • A long-wave IR laser spectroscopy system for remote chemical identification funded through $20M in DARPA/IARPA grants. I later rebuilt its electronics and software for commercialization. I continue supporting this platform as a consultant.

We concentrate our efforts primarily on Zynq SoC FPGA solutions and Linux with AMP (bare metal) SW development.
