Emigrated from the USSR in 1989 while pursuing a graduate degree in microbiology at Moscow State University; finally came to my beloved NYC in 1995 via Austria, Italy and the U.S. South to attend Columbia Law School.Learned corporate fraud from Professors John C. Coffee Jr. and Bernie Black and Judge Jed Rakoff. Learned contracts from the late great Professor E. Allan Farnsworth,\"one of America\'s most renowned legal scholars on contracts,\"\"reporter for the influential 1981 Restatement (Second) of Contracts\"(Wikipedia); worked as Professor\'s research assistant and book editor, 1L; winner of the Class of 1913 Prize in Contracts. Teaching Fellow in Civil Procedure for the class of the late great Prof. Harold Korn, expert in New York Civil Procedure, and the late great Judge Jack Weinstein. James Kent Scholar 1L; Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar 2-3L; senior editor at Columbia Law Review; summer and part-time associate at Wachtell Lipton. Eight more years at Wachtell after graduation defending Fortune 100 companies, Wall Street banks and hedge funds in white-collar crime, fraud, hostile takeover, and securities class action cases regularly featured in the WSJ and NYT, saved T. Hilfiger from jail, inter alia. Two years at Kasowitz Benson in multi-billion-dollar fraud, RICO, takeover and antitrust cases on plaintiffs\' and defendants\' side, with Trump among other clients (even went to his Trump Tower office where he begged money from a rich Russian for his Soho Trump Hotel in 2008 or about). Then three years in Switzerland suing governments worldwide on behalf of Philip Morris Int\'l, scored a win over Norway in the European Free Trade Agreement (EFTA) Court in Luxembourg and a photo from Luxemburg\'s old abbey hosting the Court and its many attendees including lawyers in wigs specially for my case printed in a Norwegian newspaper. Four years back in NYC representing Russian Forbes No. 1 Melnichenko in prosecuting international fraud cases against his friends, other oligarchs. Fuhgeddaboudit, er?    A small firm with a big idea for blockbuster cases.Corporate fraud is insidious and ubiquitous, and its victims face long odds against formidable opponents with multi-million-dollar litigation budgets and phalanxes of defense lawyers on their side (I had those budgets and hired those lawyers while in-house at a major multinational). I intend to improve those odds and level the playing field for the corporate fraud victims and whistleblowers by offering them my Ivy League legal training, my 22-year experience of investigating and litigating corporate fraud cases, my track record of beating the best of the best opponents, and my creativity and fearlessness in pursuit of my clients\' rights. To that end, I have started my own niche practice Joffe Law P.C. dedicated nearly exclusively to investigating and prosecuting serious fraud cases against large corporations.Having defended Wall Street, Forbes, and Fortune clients, having sued governments and oligarchs worldwide, I stand ready to challenge any opponent, no matter how well-defended or high-placed, with the goal of achieving significant recoveries for my clients.
