About Dimitrios Papadimitriou
Dimitrios received his 5-year integrated bachelor-master’s degree in mechanical engineering in 2002 from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in Greece. From 2002 to 2006 he did his PhD in the Parallel CFD & Optimization Unit in NTUA, related to adjoint methods for aerodynamic and thermal optimization in CFD. He worked as a research assistant and research associate in NTUA, University of Thessaly (UTH) and later in Oakland University where he developed optimization and uncertainty quantification methodologies in CFD and FEA. He has presented his works in 64 peer reviewed scientific journal and conference publications, and he has received 1167 citations to his work with an h-index equal to 16 and i10-index equal to 22. He has academic teaching experience in NTUA, UTH, UNIWA (University of West Attica) and HAFA (Hellenic Air Force Academy). On 2016 he joined BETA CAE Systems, USA, as CFD supervisor and from 2020 until today he is Senior CFD Technical Specialist in Optimization in Altair Engineering, USA. Among others he has received the ASME 2019 Award for the Best Paper, the ECCOMAS 2006 Award for the Best PhD Thesis in Computational Mechanics and the NTUA 2002 First Rank Graduate Award.
