As Director of Operations and Planning at Imperial Business School, I lead the Central Operations / Dean’s Office team and work closely with the Dean, Faculty Chief Operating Officer, and Senior Leadership Team to deliver the School’s strategic and operational priorities. My role focuses on enabling high performance, aligning services with institutional goals, and strengthening the School’s ability to operate effectively in a complex environment.I am responsible for driving consistency, coordination, and service excellence across the School’s professional services. I lead on operational planning, cross-functional delivery, and governance – ensuring that systems, roles, and processes are streamlined and responsive. I work to position the Dean’s Office as a trusted strategic partner to departments and leadership teams, building strong connections between academic and professional functions.Key responsibilities include:– Leading the Central Operations and Dean’s Office team to deliver high-quality services and executive support– Acting as a strategic partner to the Dean and SLT, aligning operations with strategic objectives– Delivering School-wide projects across operations, faculty support, and organisational design– Overseeing local HR processes, workforce planning, and recruitment– Embedding governance, risk, and health & safety frameworks– Improving data and reporting systems to support planning and decision-making– Supporting the Advisory Board and Management Board, ensuring effective governance– Professionalising EA support and setting high standards of service and leadership cultureI work across matrixed and cross-functional teams to deliver joined-up outcomes – always focused on impact, clarity, and long-term value.
