The Rutgers Hub for Aging Collaboration, part of the Rutgers School of Social Work, promotes aging equity through community-engaged research and population health analysis. The Hub focuses on improving environments for diverse individuals and families by addressing issues related to aging, health services, social inequalities, and workforce enhancement in aging services.In my role as a research assistant, I serve as the primary data analyst for a research proposal focused on New Jersey’s Assisted Living Program (ALP) for Medicare and Medicaid dual recipients. The objective is to assess whether this program helps prevent institutionalization and allows older adults to remain functioning in their homes. My contributions involve manipulating and analyzing large datasets to determine the program\'s effectiveness and whether it should be expanded. Decrypt and process large Medicare and Medicaid datasets, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality. Modify and execute existing SAS scripts to transform data into usable formats, creating data tables and Stata files for further analysis and saving logs. Use PROC SQL to write queries that clean and merge data, generate new datasets, and calculate match rates.
