ABOUT DILSHADUR RAHMAN
I\'m a Computer Science PhD candidate at the Kahlert School of Computing at the University of Utah. I work at the Scientific Computing and Imaging Institue (SCI) with Dr. Paul Rosen. Currently, I\'m investigating how people annotate different charts to effectively communicate information. Additionally, I am developing a peer review dashboard designed to improve review quality through behavioral nudges. My research lies at the intersection of Visualization (VIS) and Human–Computer Interaction (HCI). I studyhow people create and use visualizations in practice, and I translate these insights into frameworks andtools that are grounded in empirical study and informed by user-centered design. Embedded withinauthoring workflows, these frameworks and tools aim to reduce effort, improve consistency, expand ex-pressive power, and directly support how people analyze, communicate, and make data-driven decisions. I am also highly interested in collaborating with scientists across domains and exploring new directions in visualization and visual analytics that support effective data analysis and insightful discovery.
