From Oct 2018 to August 2019 - as a National Project Manager i managed the SDC supported multi-State initiative on strengthening sub-national capacities for design, planning and implementation of climate actions that are in line with the State Action Plans on Climate Change (SAPCCs) in three States - MP, Sikkim and Uttarakhand, where I managed a team of 10 professionals across these States. Since September 2019, in the role of National Project Manager, I am leading a multi-State initiative on integrating climate change concerns into social/rural development programmes such as - Mahatma Gandhi NREGA. This FCDO, Govt of UK supported initiative, is being implemented in six States (Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Bihar, MP, UP and Rajasthan). I am managing a team of 18 professionals across these States and work in close collaboration with MoRD and state nodal agencies. The programme was re-purposed for COVID response and in two years, we reached approximately households in these States on awareness building, adhering to health safety protocols, facilitating access to social safety programmes and linking livelihood programmes for long term resilience building.Since early 2022, i led an important project on leveraging NDCs for sustainable development wherein we deployed 30 solar cold storage systems and solarized more than 60 primary health centres. In addition we also provided distributed renewable energy to at least five (5) self help groups for enhancing their income generation capacities.In addition to the above, I have also led other initiatives at UNDP such as partnership with International Solar Alliance (ISA). As part of this partnership, I developed and facilitated funding to implement the Solar pumping for irrigation in 10 ISA member countries. I am also part of core group working on distributed renewable energy and Just Energy Transition in UNDP.
