Prepare personal and small-business income tax returns using professional tax software and ensure timely submission.• Analyze and organize client financial and tax documentation (T3, T4, T5, etc.) for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory filing requirements.• Assess tax and financial data to calculate tax liabilities and identify tax savings opportunities while maintaining compliance with CRA tax regulations.• Provide tax planning support and guidance to clients on tax laws and compliance strategies.• Maintain and manage tax folders adherence to internal control procedures and recordkeeping standards.• Schedule appointments, manage calendars, and communicate with clients to obtain required or missing information (donations, medical receipts, etc.) and resolve discrepancies.• Review notices of assessment and reassessment and prepare responses when adjustments require.• Prepare tax working papers, summaries, and reports to support financial decision-making.• Assist with tax audits by compiling and reviewing supporting financial documentation.• Monitor tax legislation updates and ensure timely application of regulatory changes in tax filings and reporting.• Review and analyze accounting records and documentation (accounts payables, receivables, invoicing, etc.) to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.• Maintain confidentiality of client information and follow company policies and procedures.
