The Committee for Human Rights in North Korea (HRNK) is a Washington-based non-profit NGO that seeks to raise awareness about human rights conditions in North Korea through research and advocacy. HRNK holds UN ECOSOC special consultative status.Main responsibilities- Monitor and analyze legislative developments related to international security and human rights, producing briefings for policymakers and stakeholders- Conduct research on human rights violations in North Korea (focus: religious persecutions, digital repression, gender-based violence, humanitarian crisis, nuclear weapons)- International Outreach (EU MEPs, UN diplomatic missions, ROK officials)- Project development and proposal writing for grant and funding applications- Write and edit HRNK reports, publications, and submissions to the UN- Cybersecurity updates and maintenanceMain achievement- Organized and attended two side-events at the European Parliament in Strasbourg (14/03/23) and at the 52nd Session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva (17/03/23).
