About Evan Tudor Elliott
As a registered professional archaeologist with over 15 years of experience in cultural resources management, I provide clients with an in-depth understanding of the intersection of cultural resources with federal, state, and local environmental regulations in the western United States. I have guided projects in the water infrastructure, wildfire fuels management, electrical generation and transmission, transportation, building development, and other industries through compliance with National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), the Federal Land Policy and Management Act (FLPMA), the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), the Washington State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA), and other state and local regulations. I regularly prepare recommendations on the eligibility of cultural resources for listing on the National Register of Historic Places and the California Register of Historical Resources. I also am experienced in assisting federal and state agencies with Native American consultation and I have worked with tribes to document and protect their culturally-significant places. I exceed the Secretary of the Interior’s Professional Qualification Standards in precontact (prehistoric) and historical archaeology in accordance with Appendix A of 36 CFR Part 61 and I meet the Caltrans Professional Qualifications Standards as a Principal Investigator - Prehistoric Archaeology and as a Co-Principal Investigator - Historical Archaeology.
