About Mina Blyly-Strauss
I have worn a number of hats over the years in my forrays within the arts and education communities. I have worked as an independent artist, a teaching artist, as a para and a teacher in ECSE and K-12 special education settings, as a homebound instructor for K-12, and as an early childhood teacher. My drive is to develop and implement effective early intervention and arts programs to promote individual and community wellbeing among diverse populations. Within this broad quest, I have identified the following primary areas of programmatic interest to date:1.) Universal and targeted developmental screening and early intervention programs that address child and parental learning needs in an aligned fashion;2.) Multi-component services targeting teen parent populations to provide for parenting education, workforce education, and social/community awareness to promote parental stability, community integration, and improved developmental outcomes for teen parents and their children;3.) Universal secondary-level educational efforts in social/community awareness, workforce education, health & nutrition, and human development to provide students with information and skills necessary to become healthy, stable, contributing, members of the community (including as parents, if they so choose to become them).4.) Arts instruction and creative integration throughout curricular areas, birth through adulthood.Specialties: Video and film production/editing/graphics; digital photography; graphic design; differentiated curriculum design and instruction for early childhood through grade 12; parent education curriculum design and instruction.
