ABOUT DIETRICH SAUER

Human Resources is about creating opportunities for others. It is my belief that a HR leader shall:Be approachable and caring. Compassion is a strength- not a weakness. Ask how they can help when someone makes a mistake.Champion the human spirit through positivity, encouragement, talent discovery and emotional intelligence. Make at least one person smile every day! Be a purveyor of pay it forward.Be daring and hire for potential because it’s a chance at grabbing a rising star and changing someone’s life. Hire someone overqualified for a role because their knowledge can change your world. Ask “what is the right thing to do?” And encourage process and policy enhancement to support it. Make mistakes. Just ensure to learn along the way. Listen more and listen to learn. Not punish 98% of a workforce because 2% might do something wrong. Trust in people and manage those that need guidance. Be ok with letting a bad fit go. Those having to work with bad fits will thank you as will that person when they find their career passion. Enjoy diversity, you never know what you might learn or who will save your butt in the future.
