About Dietrich Morrison Danner
Dr. Dietrich Morrison Danner has more than 25 years of leadership experience in Pre-K–16 education, with expertise in school leadership and transformation, strategic management, leadership development, and educational planning. He currently serves Durham Public Schools (Durham, N.C.) as the Senior Executive Director of Federal Programs & Community Engagement, having most recently served as the Executive Director of Federal Programs & Professional Learning. Prior to joining Durham Public Schools in 2009, Dr. Morrison Danner led Healthy Start Academy, the first established public charter school in North Carolina. He also directed the Teaching Fellows Program, the Edmonds Scholars Program, and the Student Leadership Development Program at North Carolina Central University (NCCU), where he now serves as an adjunct professor in the School of Education’s Master of School Administration program.A published scholar in educational leadership and organizational management, Dr. Morrison Danner earned the Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Management from Hampton University; the Educational Specialist degree from Oakland University; both the Master of Arts and Master of School Administration degrees from North Carolina Central University; and the Master of Divinity and Bachelor of Arts in English Education from Shaw University.He currently serves as the Vice President of the National Association of Federal Education Program Administrators (NAFEPA) and sits on the NAFEPA Board of Directors, the North Carolina Federal Education Programs Executive Committee, the State Employees Credit Union Advisory Board Member (Chapel Hill Blvd. Branch, Durham, NC) and the Success Institute Board of Directors.In addition to his work in education, Dr. Morrison Danner is the Pastor of Clark’s Chapel Baptist Church in his hometown of Statesville, N.C. He is a proud member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc, and is passionate about motivating and empowering others to maximize their greatest potential.Dr. Morrison Danner and his wife are the proud parents of one daughter.
