Turning ideas into (space) products perfectly describes me perfectly from when I was a kid (taking on different little projects) as well as today (by my current role as an innovation manager and lead engineer in the Technology and Innovation department of Airbus DS NL). In my role as innovation manager I turn ideas to products by assisting with the definition of the company\'s innovation strategy, by looking for new technology and tools, identifying promising market trends, by working with students and as well by coaching project teams using innovation methodologies to speed up their progress and running the local Prototyping facilities (Protospace Leiden). In the role as Lead Engineer I take up early-development projects (like Sparkwing) and work with the marketing and sales team as well as with the technical team to bring these developments to operational products. This role doesn\'t limit itself to the \"standard\" lead engineers tasks, business development, sales, marketing, proposal writing, making CAD\'s and performing analyses are all part of the job!
