About Diego Ge
I\'m a student at Duke University majoring in International Comparative Studies (China and East Asia regional focus) and Political Science (Political Theory and Law concentration), with a minor in Global Culture and Theory in the Literature program. I am interested in political theory, political analysis and contemporary Chinese society & politics. I’ve engaged with Civil Society/nonprofit/NGO spaces in China, the U.S. and South Africa. I\'m bilingual in Chinese and English, with convenient-store-level Japanese and working proficiency in French. I’m also proficient in R and standard quantitative methods in the social sciences. I have been involved in community consciousness-raising in both China and the Chinese diaspora here at Duke. I have conducted analytical and theoretical research on Chinese politics, and have on the ground experience with organizing in Shanghai. I’m currently conceptualizing a project on border formations, population governance and transnational politics in the context of Southeast Asia/Southwestern China.
