ABOUT DIEGO SOUZA
I currently hold the position of Meteorologist and Climate Risk Analyst at the World Food Programme (WFP/UN), where I focus on identifying and anticipating food security risks and emergencies. I have a solid background in Meteorology, Natural Disasters, Climatology, Computer Science, and programming tools. Since 2011, I have been actively involved in early warning systems, amassing over a decade of hands-on experience in this field. I have collaborated on both national and international projects in this domain, playing a crucial role in coordinating research and development initiatives. My diverse expertise also includes working with numerical weather and climate prediction models, a field in which I have been engaged since 2004. My academic journey began with a Bachelor\'s degree in Meteorology from the Federal University of Pelotas (UFPel) in Brazil, which I obtained in 2004. I continued my studies by earning a Master of Science in Physical Oceanography from the Federal University of Rio Grande (FURG) in Brazil in 2007. In 2012, I proudly achieved my Doctorate in Meteorology from the Brazilian Institute for Space Research (INPE) in Brazil. CV: http://lattes.cnpq.br/34••••••••18
