ABOUT DIEGO IACONELLI
I\'m an Anthropologist by trade who found technology through sheer happenstance. The connections between people, how we interact, and the integration of social phenomena profoundly impact my thinking and approach to technology. At Anthropic, I work as a Member of Technical Staff focusing on Endpoint Management and CPE, but my interests extend into exploring how transformative technologies like AI can either strengthen or erode cultural diversity. My academic research, particularly examining the parallels between nuclear technology adoption and AI development, reflects my commitment to understanding how societies can navigate technological transformation while preserving cultural vitality. In my writing, I explore concepts of \"resonance patterns\"- systematic ways in which seemingly universal technologies undergo transformation through local cultural practices. What makes my approach distinct is viewing technical challenges primarily as human systems problems that happen to involve technology. Whether I\'m managing endpoint systems at Anthropic or exploring theoretical frameworks for AI governance, I focus on understanding the cultural dimensions and human implications of technological change.I spend considerable time thinking about and designing systems to measure and record time - my tools, in all their forms, are of utmost importance to me. But beyond the technical aspects, I\'m fascinated by the social phenomenon of timekeeping and how it shapes human organization and interaction.
