Applying NASA Computer Based Control Systems (CBCS) standards to mitigate critical and catastrophic hazards, with responsibilities equivalent to a full-time systems engineer • Participating in Safety Review Panels, Computer Safety Panels, and Certification of Flight Readiness boards, presenting analyses and supporting flight-readiness decisions for human rated and cargo vehicles• Verifying software safety controls, hazard inhibits, and must-work / must-not-work functions by producing and reviewing hazard analyses, safety data packages, and software change requests, ensuring documentation meets standards for flight certification • Collaborating with NASA and international partners to evaluate EHP hardware (Lunar Terrain Vehicles, EMUs) and payload systems for compliance with CBCS and safety requirements • Supporting integration of safety controls across programs (ISS, Gateway, CLDP, EHP) by tracking issues, coordinating with payload providers, and aligning safety requirements across disciplines • Performing Software Assurance for Gateway, analyzing software safety data, reviewing hazard controls and certification packages for CBCS compliance, and delivering audit outbriefs to NASA management to verify readiness for human rated missions • Enhancing branch processes and knowledge transfer by documenting analyses, assisting with meeting coordination, mentoring interns, and developing a Software Quality Assurance training package for NASA and partner agencies
