ABOUT DIEGO CICCOTTO BENG
I am a commercially astute project manager with solid experience in managing diverse multifunctional teams and a proven track record of successfully delivering challenging construction projects.I’m currently working on the UCL East Marshgate project, which is a £250 million pound project creating over sqm of academic space. I project manage the two laboratory floors, as well as the toilet fit out across the building. I also package manage the lab furniture, fire stopping, toilet fit out and catering. I also manage the laboratory equipment for the client so that it is designed, installed and coordinated with our overall programme. Prior to that, I was working for Mace in the Aviation and Infrastructure sector, where gained a vast wealth of experience in pre-construction and delivery of projects within a live airport environment, whilst ensuring client satisfaction throughout the project. I’ve been able to maintain high quality delivery standards on site by embracing the right first time approach, as well as achieving zero health and safety incidents in all my projects. During my time at Mace, I’ve managed various different projects and teams which were all individually challenging due to the nature of working in a live airport. Amongst my experiences, I project managed a programme of works in Heathrow Terminal 3, which included the creation of various S&C areas for luxury brands and an Amex lounge, as well as relocating stakeholders to new areas which required new spaces to be refurbished and fitted out. Another notable project was the extremely challenging T5 Umbrella project for the ADHD foundation. This was a unique project in its design, and I was tasked with delivering the project in 4 and half weeks including completing the design and installation. The project included the installation of a wire structure between two passenger bridges in the middle of T5 so that the umbrellas could be suspended from it. I managed to deliver the project on time for the opening by the Heathrow Executives, and was very pleased that the project also featured in the BBC1 programme The One Show. Before Mace, some of my projects included the refurbishment of the Satellite 2 lounge and passenger tunnels in Stansted airport, which were high risk projects working on live areas, and required a high level of planning, management and stakeholder engagement. I also managed the refurbishment of a primary school in Somerset where I was managing the design and installation for the whole project.
